Salmon for supper

At dusk our last day in Eden, we joined other eager fisherpersons on the beach. Within minutes Steve had caught a large salmon, followed by 2 more which we shared with other less fortunate anglers who cast envious looks our way. Steve has proven to be a good hunter/gatherer and we enjoyed a good fish meal.
We made our way to Mallacoota, a beautiful spot but far too busy for us. Met a real character who is permanently on the road with her lorikeet,"Punky". Her Toyota comes complete with buffalo horns on the bullbar and all sorts of odd paraphenalia.
Risking a "Wolf Creek" episode we camp at the end of a gravel road far away from the maddening crowd. I try to dispel thoughts of Deliverance type people attacking us in the night as we sleep in the car. But to our amazement we follow a short path and find ourselves overlooking a glorious stretch of beach. A long set of wooden steps leads down to a treasure trove of driftwood and shells.

Well done Steve. David has been keeping us feed with Mangrove Jacks, Barra, Queenie and Trevally. All caught from the Endeavour River. He is in Fishing Paradise at the moment!
