Shock and sadness

Last night we wandered over to the pub to watch the ABC news.....all other channels have ceased to be on air. We also read todays paper and are shocked and saddened to here and read about the bushfire tragedies. We were unaware of the severity of what was happening. We count our blessings that we opted to keep to the ocean roads rather than head inland. We had planned to make our next stop at a camp spot on Wilsons promitory but decided to stay put. Today we here that campers have been evacuated in that area due to a new fire threat.
Walking across the road today I heard someone call my name. A good friend from Cooktown is also here. Unbelievably we came across 2 other people we know from Cooktown at some tiny place on the highway north of here.
We are thinking of, and praying for all those affected by the bushfires.....
