Wild about Wildflowers!

It's wildflower season in the west...unbelievable! The countryside has been totally transformed from being somewhat featureless to an amazing blaze of colour. The season has been perfect for them and it took me an extra 2 hours to drive home after dropping Steve at the mine site this week as I just had to stop and take photos. These were taken from beside the main road from Mullewa to Dongara. I desperately wanted to venture off road but the ground is wet and I didn't fancy having to call someone on the radio to rescue me if I bogged the toyota....besides Steve had given me fair warning to stay on the bitumen.
Looking forward to exploring the region on Steves next days off!

Sons survive Dongara

I had been waiting a long time to see our boys. They flew over from Queensland with Steve who had been in Brisbane for Cams 21st and to visit family.
Pity the weather was lousy but it made no difference to how I felt having them with us. What a pair! Such a laugh and really good fun.
Perhaps the fact that the pub is right across the road helped to ensure they enjoyed their stay...by the time they left they were on a first name basis with staff!!
Cam and Steve did a bit of fishing while Billy helped improve my golfing skills....probably to no avail...but his patience and perseverance were remarkable...good on you son!
Also had some interesting card games. Cam did very well partnering with Erica's Mum in a game of articulate. Their antics kept us all in hysterics. Hope they'll come back .
