Back to Daylesford

After Ballarat it was back to Daylesford for a few nights with Julie and Darryl in their gorgeous victorian guest room. How spoilt are we? Had a hilarious card game night, a yummy dinner at a Thai restaurant...as well as Julies' great home cooked meals, and some delicious hot chocolate...yes, more chocolate,... during a particularly cold day at the Chocolate mill at Hepburn Springs. The historic old pool at Hepburn was, not surprisingly, almost dry.
We also drove around through the burnt areas and were amazed at how close some people around Daylesford came to losing their homes.
After checking out some antique shops on our last day, Julie and I and another friend decided to be pampered at a spa, after all this is spa country! It is also known for its mineral springs. So we started by each having a mineral spa bath with some heavenly essential oils. This, in a room with a wall of glass that provided gorgeous forest views, and gentle relaxing piped music. We floated out of there and enjoyed a nice hot cuppa before having a divine body massage followed by a facial.....aaaaahhhhh!!!!
We were very sad to leave Daylesford and all our beautiful friends who have made our trip extra special.
